Big Band Valentine's Dance

On Saturday, February 18, 2012 we are at the Austrian  Canadian Cultural Centre 3112 11 Street NE for our Valentine’s dinner dance, including foxtrot, rumba, waltz, tango, cha-cha, salsa, jive and swing. People who attended the Ski Club dance there in December 2011 said the food was great.

Doors open at 6:30pm, a 3-course chicken schnitzel and roast beef buffet dinner will be served at 7pm, with dancing from 8:30 until 11:30. Cash bar.

Tickets are $55/person dinner and dance, paid in advance.

The benefits of dancing

The Benefits of Dancing
1. Forever Young. Dancing is tremendously beneficial in keeping us young. It retards the aging process immensely. It benefits our heart, cardiovascular system and increases our lung capacity. Fact: The muscle exertion and breathing rates of dancers performing in one dance competition is equivalent to those of cyclists, swimmers and an Olympic-level 800-meter runner.
2. Strong Bones Lubricated Joints. Dance aids in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis, which is a major concern for woman, especially during post-menopause because of the significant drop in estrogen that occurs at this stage.
